About the Aperion Project
The Aperion Project is an outlet for original instrumental music located in Chicago. The music you will hear here consists of compositions, improvisations and experiments in acoustic and/or electronic music. This occurs in both studio productions and live performances. Aperion performs live as a modular ensemble consisting of jazz instrumentation (horns and rhythm) with live laptop.
Non-musical sources such as pre-socratic philosophy, ancient mythology, ancient Buddhist thought, ancient and modern cosmology, speculative fiction, modern existentialism and phenomenology play an influence on The Aperion Project.
Aperion is an ancient Greek word roughly translated to "boundless" or "formless substance" first described by the ancient Greek philosopher Anaximander
Note on the spelling: Aperion is also spelt as Apeiron, however the spelling used here is for purely aesthetic reasons.
